The Delta Engine page has been rebuilt from the ground up. It still gives you one weekly read of Bitcoin. Now it also tracks four order-flow setups that came before big moves, tells you when one is forming, and walks you through the page in about a minute.

One setup is forming this week. More on that below.

Three changes

1. A dashboard you can scan. The weekly read sits top left. Next to it are the six factors behind it and a map of who has been moving price. Below sits one chart with 86 weeks of price, futures net delta and open bets.

Weekly candles on top. Green bars underneath mean futures traders bought more than they sold that week, red means they sold more. The blue line is open bets.

2. Four setups, each with its record. Patterns we tested on years of futures data, shown with every past case, misses included.

3. You hear about them. A message on Telegram when a setup starts forming, and again when it confirms at the weekly close.

The four setups

The four Delta Engine setups with their status and history badges

New shorts into a falling market. Two weeks of futures traders opening bets on a fall while price slips. Those bets get proved right, or they get squeezed if price turns up. The record splits it by volume in the second week, because the two versions played out very differently.

Bottom alert. A fall of 15% or more in four weeks, with open bets flushed out by 4% or more. Traders are forced out of their positions. Most of the big lows since 2022 came after one of these.

Top warning. A rise of 10% or more in four weeks, with open bets up 5% or more that week. Traders pile in. Most of the big highs since 2022 came after one of these.

Rally on futures selling. Price up 10% or more while futures traders net sold in two of the last three weeks. Rare, and in the record it rarely ended well.

Each card carries a badge for the way its record leaned:

  • ▲ Bullish history: price was higher afterwards more often than after a normal week.
  • ▼ Bearish history: price was higher afterwards less often than after a normal week.
  • ◆ Two-sided: the record went both ways, with big squeezes up and deeper drops.

None of this is a call. Each card puts the setup's record next to the rate for any normal week, shows both ways it has gone, and says how small the sample is. The Setup history panel lists every past case and where price was 4 and 8 weeks later.

Forming this week

As of Saturday 24 October, New shorts into a falling market is forming. On Bybit futures, both of the last two weeks show net selling, with open bets rising and price lower over the two weeks. It confirms only if that still holds at the weekly close, Sunday 23:59 UTC. Alpha Insider members can see the checks, the full record and both ways it has gone on the page.

How you will hear about a setup

Forming, confirmed, or dropped out: the three messages a setup can send

Alpha Insider members get a message at each stage:

  • Forming: once the checks pass on the week so far, usually from Tuesday onwards.
  • Confirmed: on Monday morning, if the setup still held at the weekly close.
  • Dropped out: if a setup we flagged does not confirm at the close, we tell you that too.

The messages go to the private Alpha Insider Telegram group. You also get them as a direct message from the TMU bot if your membership is linked to Telegram. Not linked yet? Open the bot, send /start and follow the steps. Send /deltaoff to the bot to stop the direct messages (the group posts carry on), and /deltaon to turn them back on.

How to use the page

  1. Start with the read. Top left. Most weeks it says "No signal", by design: the engine only speaks up when six factors agree.
  2. Check the gold notice at the top. It names any setup that is live this week. Tap it to jump straight to that setup.
  3. Read the setup card. The checks it needs, its history badge, and a table comparing what followed with any normal week.
  4. Open Setup history. Tap the gold Show arrow to see every past case, misses included.
  5. Mind the "so far" labels. Anything marked "so far" belongs to the week in progress and changes until Sunday's close.

New to order flow? Press New here? Take the 1-minute tour at the top of the page. It steps you through each panel in plain words.

The order-flow map sorts each week by two questions: did price rise or fall, and did traders open new bets or close old ones?
