Every trader has a setup that "always works". Most only look that way because nobody counted the times it didn't.
So we counted. We took every weekly swing setup we track, from the Delta Engine, The Tape and our own research, and checked each one against a normal week. Then we ranked them, best record first.
Three things the counting showed
Some popular reads do the opposite of what people expect. "The crowd is shorting the rally, so it must be the top" is a common one. Since December 2022, after a 7% rise in a week with small accounts far less long than the big traders, Bitcoin rose another 10% before it fell 10% in 28 of 48 cases, and fell 10% first in only 19. A crowd short in a rally is not a top, so it is not on the list.
Some quiet ones do a lot. Take the March 2024 top. On 11 March the weekly money flow index went above 80. Two weeks later Bitcoin made a higher weekly close, $71,280, but with less money flowing in behind it. The next week closed lower. Bitcoin then fell 31% before it closed above $71,280 again, months later.
A higher price with weaker money flow, then a lower close. That is one of the nine setups, and it sits near the top of the ranking.
Stacking setups is not proof. We show how many are active at once, tops and bottoms separately. We do not add them into a score, because we have not seen evidence that more of them together means more.
New for Insiders
- One ranked table on the Delta Engine page. All nine setups, #1 to #9, each marked active, watching or off. Watching tells you exactly what is still needed, for example the weekly close a setup is waiting for.
- Live on The Tape chart. Every past time each setup completed is labelled on the chart where it happened, tops above the candles and bottoms below. Hover a label for what happened that week.
- A toggle for each setup. Switch any of them on or off in the chart menu, and The Tape remembers your choice.
- New ones highlighted automatically. A setup that completes at the weekly close is marked NEW on the chart and in the table that week, so you do not have to go looking.
Setups with a long enough record show it. Newer ones are marked "under test" and show their status only, until they have enough cases to judge.
