A chart shows you where Bitcoin has been. The Tape shows you where the big buyers and sellers are waiting right now, and what happens when price gets there.
From today it is live for Alpha Insider members and above, with every feature switched on.
What The Tape shows you
- The big orders, across five exchanges. Buy and sell walls on Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp and Bitfinex in one view, with how often each exchange's big orders get pulled, so you can tell a solid wall from a bluff.
- Live price. The candle, the price and the flashes update every second.
- Live flashes. When price pushes through a wall, reaches a weekly buy zone, a POC or a liquidation level, and when the order book stacks up on one side. Each flash carries its own live track record, and each one says whether it is about the next few hours or the next few weeks.
- Futures next to spot. Who is opening and closing positions (new longs, new shorts, longs or shorts closing), liquidations, and where Hyperliquid positions would be closed by force (from accounts worth $100k and over).
- The levels that matter. Daily, weekly and monthly POCs (the busiest prices), weekly buy zones, and three on-chain cost basis lines: the average price every bitcoin last moved at (realised price), the average cost of the bitcoin actually in use (True Market Mean) and the average price newer buyers paid (short-term holder cost basis).
- Swing setups and Box Analogues. The same weekly setups as the Delta Engine, marked on the chart, each scored passed or failed in the open. A second tab, Box Analogues, splits Bitcoin's weekly history into 30-week boxes and draws the past boxes that started from a similar point in the cycle over the current one. They are analogues to compare against, not odds or a forecast.
- Your journal. Write down the level you are watching. With Telegram linked, the TMU bot messages you when price gets there.
- Morning and evening reads. Today on the Tape lands at 8am UK with the day's scenarios. The 9pm read checks them against what happened.
- The Tape topic in the Insider Telegram. Every key flash a minute or two after it happens, plus /tape, /levels and /poc from the bot.
Simple or Pro: you choose
Simple is where you start. One chart, the order book balance under it, a one-line read of what the book is doing right now, and the live flashes. A short guided tour walks you through it the first time.
Pro opens everything: the futures panels, CVD, traded volume per candle, footprint candles (what was bought and sold at each price inside each candle, with strong and poor highs and lows marked), the order book heatmap, the soft bias table and every level and setup on the chart. Switch between the two with one tap.
On a phone, The Tape opens in a short version with the chart and the flashes first. Tap full screen and turn your phone sideways for the full chart.
Not an Alpha Insider yet?
The Tape is part of Alpha Insider and above, alongside the Delta Engine, the Barometers, DCA Targets, the member videos and the private Telegram. Until you join, you still get delayed flashes in the free Telegram channel and a weekly round-up of what The Tape saw.
What it is, and what it isn't
The Tape shows where orders are waiting and what happened when price got there. It doesn't tell you where price goes next, and it isn't a buy or sell call. It carries a beta label while we keep scoring every flash in the open. When a record changes, you will see it on the flash.
